About me

I am a scientist by training. I work on Hagfish. Hagfish are eel-like deep-sea dwellers known for their ability to scavenge at the bottom of the oceans. They are also known for their ability to secrete large amounts of slime when provoked. My role as a senior research associate at Chapman University is to understand the superabsorbent properties of slime hydrogel and to design bioinspired materials from the slime.

In my spare time, I do pro-bono consulting work in Biotech/Pharma space at Prescouter Inc. as well as for First Dive Consulting. I am also a PMI certified Project management professional (PMP).

I love to talk about world politics. I am a fan of long-form narrative journalism and considers reading New Yorker, Caravan Magazine, and Wall Street Journal as my daily ritual. I am always interested in trying new things - lab experiments, food, adventure. I regularly meditate that helps me to be at peace with my surroundings and the world.
